For many years, Masjid Omar (to the best of our knowledge) was the only Masjid in Columbus, Ohio, offering a free Iftar every day during the whole month of Ramadan. We thank Allah first and then the generosity of our community who made this happened, so hang on there!!
The schedule for Iftar during Ramadan is available since the beginning of the month of Sha’ban and only limited places are available. Hurry up and reserve your rewards. Choose your date either alone or with a group; you can also provide food or give us the money ($ 700) and we can get it ready for you. confirm with Br. The Prophet peace be upon him said: “Whoever observes night prayer in Ramadan as an expression of his faith and to seek reward from Allah, his previous sins will be blotted out.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
This year Taraweeh will be led by Qari Muhammad Swilam and Qari Hasib Shairzai.
- Br. Muhammad Swilam is a PhD student at the Ohio State University. He is originally from Egypt. He is a Hafiz with a very beautiful voice.
- Br. Hasib Shairzai is one of Columbus youth who memorized the whole Quran in the Madinah, Saudi Arabia. He is originally from Afghanistan. He is a Hafiz with a very beautiful voice.
Qur’an program with Shaykh Mohammad Dejebbari will be every day EXCEPT SUNDAY from 2:00 to 6:00 pm (from Dhuhr to Asr).

A story time program will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 Pm to let our kids enjoy the Quran stories as follows:

It is our pleasure to announce the different levels of the Qur’an competition during the month of Ramadan. Level details are here Qur’an competition. Awards will be distributed on the night of Eid inshaa Allah. Get Ready.

Islamic I.D. benchmarks for nowadays.

Ramadan is the month of good attitude and high manners
Let’s make sure we are grateful and respectful to the employees and volunteers who work so hard to make our Ramadan experience a positive one.
Let’s please be respectful to our neighbors. Please, do your very best to ensure that traffic to the Masjid, and around the neighborhoods does not disturb our neighbors.
Please keep conversations to a minimum using a low pitch, and move them outdoors so we can avoid disruptions for those who are praying.
Parents, we encourage you to bring your children to the Masjid and participate in Masjid activities as a family. But, please make sure that your children are respectful and under control all the time. It is NOT ALLOWED to leave your kids in the babysitting tent and go home.
